The Holly King

In the spirit of Winter Solstice or Yule of the Pagan tradition, I created a digital painting of the lord of the season – The Holly King as a divine stag. His reign will give way to the Oak King – the bringer of Spring and return of the sun after the longest night of the year.
This piece was created during the time of the December 2020 Great Conjunction. The year 2020 ended with a special astronomical event: the closest great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 397 years. On December 21, the two planets almost touched in the sky. I included it in the sky to the left behind the stag.
