Severance – The Birds of Leaving Call to Us

Ravens and and their cousins the crows have been represented in many cultures throughout history as guides in and out of the underworld, and the transition places souls must cross after death . This painting was inspired by a vision I had of seeing large numbers of ravens and crows being called to guide the many millions of souls that had to make the crossing during the transition time of the 2020 pandemic.
