This piece gets at the kind of mood these abandoned desert signs, seen out in the middle of nowhere, always evoke in me. Relics of road side places make me think of forgotten paths, once visible, but are now hidden doorways to deeper mysteries. Fun to think about.

The sign is from a long gone cafe by the side of CA 58 in North Edwards, California, across the highway from Edwards Air Force Base.
